TAMA GALLERY WEBSITE
The TAMA gallery website visually reflects the serene atmosphere of the Asian antiques and art showroom. The image immediately to the right shows the animation on the home page. This is not a typical Flash intro, which takes too much time to load without conveying much information. This algorithmically-driven animation loads very quickly and instantly conveys the idea that TAMA is about Asian style—old and new—through motifs borrowed from Japanese Ukiyo-e prints. Once the site is entered by simply clicking anywhere on the screen, the collection of objects can be browsed with an interactive scroll of images or a simple click-through interface.
The content of the site is dynamically loaded from XML files, making the site easy to update as well as accessible. PHP scripts generate a complete alternate, HTML-based site for those without Flash or visiting the internet with slow connections.
